Default My first honda

My neighbor sold me their 1990 honda civic hb. I've always loved hondas, but my dad would never let me get one because he knew i would be racing or doing something stupid (he learned from his tuner past). Now that im older and saved up more money, he didn't want me to pass up this opportunity for $500.

odometer read 300K, but engine was replaced with only 80K (d15b2)
there is a coolant leak, and at first i thought it was just a hose, but now i think its the head gasket.
Overall the car is very clean. looks like a recent and cheap paintjob. rebuilt front end. new bushings, tires, brakes.
future mod list:
craigslist coilovers
sportmax 002 wheels
10K hids
basic bolt-ons (intake, header, exhaust)

this is what my dad made me use for the past 4 years

hey, even if the engine needs some work and the paint is cheap, you've got yourself a straight Hatchy. Do you know what trim level it was originally?

all i know is that everything is manual, no radio, no ac. the only thing i need to maintain is just the engine and suspension. just the way i like it.

It is a truly unique assortment of parts. front bumper is 88-89, but rear is 90-91, driver side trim looks also 88-89, but the pass. is mostly 90-91. You gonna learn a lot about the entire fourth generation. Good luck!

sucks that it's an STD.. my first honda was also an EF (DX) probably the best car to have as a first honda (you learn so much)

goto any scrap yard you can and find an SI! SI bucket seats (designed by recaro), SI cluster (with tach), SI 3-spoke steering wheel, SI front lip, all will bolt on... i'd also look into MPFI and getting that 4spd tranny replaced ASAP with an SI tranny, then you'll have yourself a little quick hatch... or scrap the SOHC all together and swap in a B engine, that hatch will fly with a DOHC..

anyway, besides the EF/CRX forum here, these are some other good sites to check out..

**** i miss my EF!!
