Default Warm engine starting issues

Hi,
My car has been running fine for about a 1year now after fixing the vacuum leak. Recently I have had issues starting the car on a warm engine. Basically when I first start the car in the morning I turn the battery on with the key let it sit for 2 seconds and the engine fires right up. But when the engine has ran to nominal temperature and say I go to a store for 10mins and I get back in the car and try to start it, it has a really hard time starting. The starter is spinning trying to turn over the engine but, car will not start. It takes 3-4 turns of the key to make it start. Anyone have any idea what this could be? Everything is fine when the engine is cool.

Thanks

PS it is a 1988 honda crx with a d15b2 engine from a 1991 civic.

Could be your main relay.

Main relay most likely. should run ya ~$60. Ask about the return policy/warranty before you waste your money.

I will check the main relay and see if this is the issue.

onelessissue,
The engine once actually cranked over and turned off in about 1-2 seconds. For the most part it tries to crank but not actually turned over and start.

Thanks,

For future clarity:
Cranking = When the starter is able to spin the engine but it will not start.

main relay mine used to do that.

I ended up taking it out at work.

Redoing the solder joints and all was good.

Alright so I found bad connectors I ended up putting new connectors. The car is pretty old and looks like there has been moisture build up over time some of the connectors were corded I just cut them off and replaced them with new ones. seems to be working fine now.

Thanks for you help.
