Shot peened LS rods with ARP bolts

Head:
Stock port B16 head
Blox dual valve springs (possibly going crower)
Blox Ti retainers (possibly going crower, bidding on some)
Toda C cams (looking at these for $300)

Exhaust:
Rage racing header
3" exhaust with a magnaflow muffler

Intake:
Stock ITR intake mani
68mm TB
3" short ram with a bpi v-stack

Sounds like you have it all figured out to me. Be watchful of who assembles it and the tuning.

Thats the wonderful thing about buying used parts. granted it has its pros and cons. - One thing that i would do is put a golden eagle block guard in if you plan on reving the motor out - you can usually find those brand new for around a 100 bucks

Couple changes up in the build.

Through a couple people that have built B20/LS vtecs, they recommended me NOT to run je pistons on the stock rods. I sold the setup for more than I got it for, so whatever lol.

Gonna go with YCP's ITR replica 84mm pistons on the stock rods with ARP bolts.
I also got the rage racing header for mad cheap. ($150)
The guy that I wanted to get the Toda C's from sold them fml.
Might go with some Blox B's if I can't find something else for cheap as hell.

What do you guys think about the Blox Bs?
Anyone have the specs on these? I am looking.

Also, bought the main item of the swap. Got a B20 longblock today for a laptop trade and $80. Haven't used the laptop in about 7 months and was gonna give it to my brother, so I basically got the B20 for $80.
If anyone in Socal wants a PasswordJdm bought complete head with the intake mani and exhaust mani, let me know. PM me!

i wish my "budget build" consisted of a parts list like that.

Only thing that stands out to me is the 3" exhaust. IMO a bit big for NA. remember small displacement motors need some back pressure to produce torque.

I don't think my build is overly expensive. I am buying pretty much no new parts except the pistons lol. I'll try to find those NIB too. lol

The 3" exhaust will be needed when I do the nitrous tune up on it. Want some 11s with a 4 door DA. I think I should attain that goal relatively easy on a nice 80-100 shot tune up.
Gonna see what I can get it with it all motor first.

They said they are too heavy for the stock rods.

OEM pistons and pins probably weigh more.
Do you know the weight on the JE's?

B16's and pins are roughly 300gr

Just got some eagle rods and some YCP B20 race pistons. Also got an ACL race bearing kit. Bottom end should be good to go!

3" is never too big

such a big myth about losing tq going from 2.5 to 3"

Here are some pics of the B20:

The whole motor. Dad's 67 camaro on the left and my 68 barracuda on the right.

The b20 head looks great. Cams look brand new. Too bad I won't be using this head lol.

What it should look like when I'm done if I don't mess it up lol.

Using long *** bolts. Hopefully it's okay!

On a side note, picked up a B16a head as complete as it gets today for $400. Intake mani, tb, dizzy, vtec solenoid, valve cover were all included.

lol x2 thats what i said in a diffrent post nothing budget about this build this is a normal build but to be honest b20vtec builds arent really that expensive if you d oresearch and not just run out and get the most expensive parts you can find like a buddy of mines did. plus if your doing all the work that saves you a ton of money because labor is what kills you. but either way it seem like its going to be a pretty nice build im just waiting for my srp pistons and eagle rods to come monday and im gonna start putting my b20 together

My dad has had the camaro since he was 15 and bought it for a whopping $500.
I got the Barracuda for free from my grandpa because he wanted to get it out of his yard. It had been sitting in his yard for 20+ years. lol
The Barracuda is also far away from running condition and has some body damage. It's a slow moving project. haha

Everything is bought off of craigslist so far. You guys would be suprised what deals you can find.

I just bought a B16 head that came with the TB, intake mani, fuel rail, FPR, injectors, dizzy, vtec solenoid, valve cover, and the complete head. Got it for $400. That is some good shopping right there.
A lot of people were posting up just the head with no valve cover and any of the other stuff for $375.

Just don't hop on the first deal you find either. I searched over 20 different heads lol.
