Default Converting EX sedan from automatic to manual

Hey guys,

I just picked up a '90 ex sedan. The car is mint, but I am not a fan of the automatic trans.

I have a few questions:

1). Will the 5 speed transmission from the 1.5 civic (lx and dx) work in my 1.6l EX? If not, what transmissions are compatible with this?
2). If the transmission from the 1.5 isnt usuable in my ex, are all of the components? like pedals, cables etc...

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response! this is awesome news for me!

I know this is asking alot, but do you happen to know everything I will need to do the swap? I was thinking about just picking up a beat up sedan with a 5 speed just for the trans, but if I could save some space and gather the parts that would be better.

Also do you know if any fabrication will be needed, or will it just bolt right on?

Thanks!

i did it not too long ago on my hatch
you need the pedal assembly
clutch cable
shift linkeage
rear stick tranny mount that needs to be changed on the read crossmember towards the passengers side holes
its not that hard
hardest par is pedal assembly i would say...
just look for a good shifting L3 cable tranny and youre good to go...

only thing i have to add is, if you don't mind the extra work(which seems like you don't cause you're doing this swap) is taking the tranny apart and swapping in a si/ex final drive. will give your car more pep.

*edit
unless you get a si/ex tranny, then never mind.
