Okay so I have an 88 hatch dx, I was wondering what I would have to do to make a rear shelf from a 89 si fit? Is it a direct bolt in deal or no. I ask because I want to put one in and I just want to make sure it will fit. Thanks

 

direct fit as long as you have the shelf pieces.

 

they are the same thing. there are no physical differences between the 88-91 civic si rear shelf.

 

For some reason, mine doesn't want to accept OEM bolts lol, i got the car without a shelf with deletion plugs in place.

 

cool so it needs to come with the clips? do i need to change any of my trunk panels?

 

I did this to my 91 civic STD, as it came with no shelf. Luckily my brothers parts car was sitting nearby with all the pieces I needed! Go to the junkyard and grab the plastic peices that the shelf clips into and be sure to take the bolts as well. You will need them.
