well I just recently swapped in my b16 in my rex.
problem is when I fire it up it seems o.k. but when i give it some gas i starts acting real dumb. ( only thing i could think of at the time )

also. if anyone can direct me to the right thread because i cant seem to find a good one with pics regarding the wiring and vacuum diagrams.

On the transmission(cable) the VSS has 2 hoses where the hell do they go?lol. or can i just cap them?

this thing is tripping me out. also, there are 2 wires coming from the oil pan where do those go? and where are the wires i need for the knock sensor?

The motor is obd2-my wiring is obd1 dizzy/ecu etc.

 

just look the hoses on the vss, its for power steering and should be looped to hold fluid. and as for the vac hoses and such, check out this guide i believe most of the hoses on the obd0/obd1 b16 are the same http://crxcommunity.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=173

 

and as for knock sensor, the guide tells you how to wire a knock sensor. you need to put it in the plug in the ecu

 

o.k thanx. I also forgot to mention it's missing the o2 sensor. would that also cause a prob? im using a virgin p28.

your using a p28 that hasnt been chipped for the b16? no wonder its acting funny, but the o2 sensor will just cause it to run rich

 

no. what needs to be chipped? ( i'm not good with ECU chiping and what not.)

 

i also have a p06 both obd0 and obd1 the obd1 P06 is chipped with chrome. but also does the same thing.

do as i said, use the right ecu and hook up the cyp sensor.

 

I am i'm going to take the ECU and see how much they'll charge me to chip it.
damn. so i guess its going to be sitting until hopefully this weekend when i get paid. wack.

do i run those to wires to the distributor or to the ECU? its kind of confusing. lol I've tried searching but all they say is "hook it up" but dont mention where to connect it.

 

yeah you need to chip it you can also tell them to erase the o2 censor too.

 

what ECU would be better to chip?
both ECU's are obd1

P28?

 

p28 would be nice to chip but the pr4 would work to, the ideal thing would be to get a obd1 pr3 and plug it right in and go.

nice crx man, got one myself !lol i ran a stock p28 ecu in my eg hatch just as a temp. so i could get my p06 chipped with chrome and it ran aright but would not run as my daily. and to get it chipped should run you about $100 if that. keep up the good work on the rex !

 

the p28 would be better since its already setup for vtec. one less thing to pay for. Delete the o2 sensor on the chip (its what i did)

loop the speed sensor hoses

make sure all your vac lines are run right

 

Nevermind* its a P06 thats chipped. idk where my PR-4 went.

 

Sounds like the tps and map sensor plugs are backwards

 

this thing is getting me pissed. lol.

Ok but do you know what the base map is for? Your best bet would to be contact phearable.net he can burn you a base map and ship it to your house.
