first off i purchased this four door gsr it's a 94 two days ago i got a great deal on it so i had to jump on it and yes it's all legit lol,

problem #1-my heater and a/c just quit working on me yesterday it was making a loud noise (humming noise) from under the dash by the glove box but the heater worked great, now when i turn the switch to #1,2,3, or 4 nothing happens anyone have any ideas??

problem#2- my breaklights don't come on when pressing on the break i have not checked for shorts or anything like that at that matter

problem#3- my gauge cluster lights don't come on when turning the lights on

problem#4- my fuel gauge doesn't work

idk if problems #2,3,4 have anything to do with each other so if anyone has any ideas please let me know thanks

 

Check the under dash fuses as a first step. If you want to have any hope of DIYing electrical issues you'll need a multimiter that can do continuity testing. One potential cause of your problem is a wire in the back of the stereo headunit that commonly shorts.

 

i checked all the fuses under the dash as well as the headunit wiring harness it's all good as for the break light switch i have unplugged it and stuck a piece of copper wire in two of the ports and sure enough the lights came on so i ordered a new break light switch today as for the other problems such as fuel gauge and gauge cluster lights not working i checked the dimmer switch wires and they're good so still don't know what it could be on those. the fuel gauge i'm thinking maybe the floater could be gone so that's what i will be checking this weekend if anyone else has any thoughts on what it could be please lmk thanks
