H23A1/JDM F22B head on a USDM F22A1
After doing research today I've found that the JDM F22B, USDM H23A1, and USDM F22A1-4-6 share essentially the same internal organs. The big difference being the H23A1 has a slightly bigger bore and the F22A1 seems to use a slightly bigger rod cap bearings, but the same rod.
My question is: Has anyone ever heard of a H23A1/JDM F22B head being swapped onto a F22A1-4-6??? While they might share the same rods etc that doesnt guarantee oil/water passeges.
Just figured I'd ask you 'Lude guys first what your opinions are.

i think the only way to prove this swap is/isnt possible is to go buy the headgasket for each engine tomorrow and see what the deal is.

I am definately interested in this. Does anyone know if this is possible. I was talking with my father in law when we were working on my lude about this.
The bottom end is has nothing to do with the dual cams. (Besides preformance) i mean the cams are not in the bottom end. And if the honda Fseries and H series blocks share sooo many parts it may be possible. I have not had in my posession the 2 blocks to compair so i would not know, but someone has to know. Any info would be appreciated.

h23 with h22 head u will need alot of crap. the h22 head with all internals (cams, cam gears, springs....) intake and exhaust manifolds, the lower timing belt pulley, remove the oil shoot from the h23 block (between 2-3 cylinders and some other crap dont forget ECU
sorry for the old thread, but does anyone have a picture of the top of a H23A1? (deck picture)
F22B2 (basically the same as any F to my knowledge with the open deck)

H23A1 .. i didnt know it was a closed deck engine. then i got to thinking since its just the brother of the H22A... why wouldnt it be.
Short of closing off part of those oil drains on the top right and bottom right .... i dunno how it could be done. those water jacket holes dont line up at all either.. I therefor file this project under S... for shitcanned.
edit: nevermind open deck didnt start till 97+

From my research I know for "sure that the JDM F22B DOHC Head and H23 Head are interchangeable.. Now for those head to fit on a F22A orF22B (US Spec) I wouldn't know.
If you really want to make a USDM F22 DOHC you should try finding a head off of a JDM F20A DOHC engine, guessing that would fit.
(my 2 cents)
