Ok, here's the deal. I want to buy this car from the dealership, and I am planning to low ball him to the lowest price possible but in a mature and logical manner. In order to do this, I need to find things in/on the vehicle that will cause it to loose valve. In this case, the car has a modified exhaust but I do not know what type or what brand it is. I need to know the types/brands of exhaust that are CARB LEGAL in most states; exhaust brand like Magna Flow. Yes, I am aware that modifying your exhaust is illegal even if it's carb legal or not but sole purpose of this is to come home with a car paying the least amount possible. I already took into account the MSRP/invoice price, holdback price, ect. ect. Of course, I won't be fool into buying the sticker price. Any suggestions will be helpful.

 

hmmm anything after the cat is fair game..
u may be able to argue that it exceeds the legal db level or something like that...or maybe even police attn getter...

everything before have to be carb legal.. headers... intake... cams the works...

 

Just get something that isn't a huge N1 and you should be cool. Like a es oval or vibrant muffler with 2.5" piping to the cat.
