Default ef sedan 5spd swap?

hey whats up honda-tech. i'm looking to perchase a 1991 ef sedan for cheap, the car is clean and super stock but it kinda needs a trans and it is auto. i have a crx si parts car and i was wondering if i can use the pedal assembly from the crx with the clutch cable and throttle cable? the car has cc but i'm not going to use it. can it be done with no welding or getto rigging?

Yes, it can be done with no welding or rigging. The pedal assy from the CRX is perfect and is what you are looking for. You will also need the rear mount (connects tranny to rear x-member). Also grab the clutch cable, shifter boot and trim, linkage. You'll need to swap the throttle cable over depending on what you'll be running (dpfi or mpfi). Not that hard, finished mine up last week. All in all it took two full days of work grinding out by myself, likely less if I had a helper. Good luck!

Front, rear and right side mounts are different on a manual. Front mount from auto can be used but it has less webbing so it is not as stiff. Rear mount can be changed fairly easily from the top by using a quarter inch drive socket with a universal joint and a long extension and a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter on the ratchet (use good quality tools here). Make sure you get the rear mount bracket for the manual trans. To disable the ignition lock just unplug or remove the small module under the driver's seat (it's blue if i remember correctly). Not sure if the throttle cable will work with the si pedal (different cables have different ends), but if not you can put the auto throttle pedal on the si assembly. To keep cruise control you need a pedal set from a cc equipped manual car and hook the cruise clutch switch to ground and to the pink wire from the old shifter (might be pink/black, I'd have to check the schematics, still haven't hooked mine up yet). Pedal set really isn't as hard some people make it out to be. Remove the seat and dash support and swing down the steering column (might have to remove covers and disconnect wiring, I don't remember) and the fuse box. Remove a/c ducts and you're there. Some brake light switches have two wires and some have four, change the switch if you need to. You can reuse your old starter (You might need different bolts, I don't remember). 90 and up civics use a larger clutch and flywheel combo and 88's use a different input spline. If you have an 88 trans you can use an 86-89 accord clutch disk with a 90 and up flywheel and pressure plate for the larger clutch combo. Use flywheel bolts for manual, they are a longer. To bypass the neutral start switch jumper the two large black wires under the console or use a relay connected to the clutch switch. Reverse lights are yellow and green wires under the console. These go directly to the reverse switch on the trans. Auto ECU will throw a code for torque converter clutch if you use it. You might be able to trick it by hooking the coil side of a relay into the TCC circuit as a dummy load to fool the ECM. I haven't tried this so I don't know if it will work but it would be worth a try and might save you the cost of a new computer. You can use your auto axles with the manual trans. As far as I know all EF clutch cables and shift linkages are the same. If you pull the engine to do the swap it will go back in MUCH easier than it came out. If you pull your parts from the junkyard, save all bolts, you might need them later. Filling the holes under the console is probably the most tedious part and it helps to cut a section of the tunnel out of a manual car in the junkyard. This piece can be sandwiched between your tunnel and the shifter support. This definitly a doable project and you will feel very rewarded at the end. It's been a year since I did this to my car so I appoligize if any of the above information is wrong.
