i just recently swapped a b18a1 into my crx si and i left it obd 0 now i get a check engine light that is code8 which is tdc now the car runs fine no problems and the light comes on after i start driving it and once i shut it off and turn it back on itlll go away for a couple minutes also the dizzy i have on there i rebuild it shaft and all im starting to think its that??????

 

Replace the distributor, problem solved. The shaft has a gear the spins and there is a tip on that gear that sends a signal as it passes the sensor. It could be that just the gear is bad. You can swap out just the shaft, but I would much rather get a new distributor with a warranty

 

Need a new dizzy for sure. Had same code before also.

 

well the distributor in there i replaced the shaft before i installed it to complete the swap and i think thats what went wrong also after posting this i took the car out for a run and it shut off on me and then i started back up and it made it to my house then shut off on the driveway in my garage it would start up then then shut off after three times untill it wouldnt even start now this morning i took the distributor out and replaced the igniter and one bad spark plug wire it started and then died then the second time it started and i let warm up havent taken for a test drive yet????.....yea i think you guys are right but dam 100 bucks for dizzy

 

what shaft did you replace? inside the dizzy?
