Default tranny q's

does anyone know off hand about either of the following:
1) does a 90+ starter fit an 88 tranny case
---or----
2) does the 88 flywheel have the same amount of teeth as the 90+

If you're talking D series, the starters are interchangeable, and the 88 flywheel has the same number of teeth, but not the same surface area for the clutch disc.

thanks, would it be possible to retain the 90 flywheel, use a 88 disk with a 90 pressure plate?

I doubt it, I would use 90 everything. larger surface area. For my (deceased) CRX I used 96 flywheel with my Y8 engine, 96 clutch and pressure plate.

ok cause my 90 tranny is bad or else I'd put my ACT from my broken 93 coupe into it, I have what appears to be a 88 tranny but the 88 has 1 more tooth on the input shaft so my 93 disk won't fit it, i was curious to see if i could use an 88 disk with the 90+ flywheel & pressure plate.

you can use this setup. ive got a 91 ef, and i was using an 88 si tranny, 88 clutch disk, and 90+ flywheel and pressure plate. only difference is, as stated above, the disk is smaller but thats it. itll all work
