Default 1979 Honda Civic CVCC Hatchback

Does anyone know the part number for the KYB front struts for a 1979 Civic CVCC Hatchback?

Are they:

KYB 432008
KYB 432009

If they are, let me know because I found a place that has them and these are impossible to find front struts.

I wish it did help, but it does not show the discontinued struts. It only shows the shocks for the wagon instead of what I have......the hatchback.

so i see you have found the monroe ts71710 as an option (japanesenostalgiccar.com). i am in the same boat looking for replacement struts for my 79 1200. anyway, i tried to order the monroe struts mid-last year, paid for them and everything, then got an email regretting to inform me they were not available and then a refund. i am down to my last few missing pieces, once found the resto begins. would you shoot me an email if you run across the struts for yours?

thanks.

Even I can't find those. Either look for the struts that are:

KYB 432008 and 432009 because I now know they work

Or, get a set of 1973/74 openable strut casings and get some inserts that are either Koni here:
http://www.classicgarage.com/86-1864.html

Or get the Boge here:
http://www.classicgarage.com/hocifr.html

Either method will work. I will still look around for the Monroes, but I have contacted 12 places and all are out. However, I believe they are the same company on the internet.

thanks.

i think the kyb's were the ones i used too many years ago to count (just remember there was a different number for the right and the left).

i am going to try and order the koni's tomorrow.

thanks again. good luck with your resto.

ps - i think they are all the same as well since the $ is the same on all of them.
