check with ur paint store..since it s just the lip im assuming ur not looking for a perfect match or or maybe leaning toward a 2 tone..u have to make sure the new paint has a clean surface to bond..id just recommend using an good rubbing compound then lightly wet sanding the surface..prime..then paint..compound and paint again..if u want u can spray a coat of clear coat on..then polish and wax after 30 dys

I used Krylong flat black for my si lip installed on my eh2. It was originally EBP in color. I just washed it really good and used some citrus oil and adhesive remover. After it dried, I wiped the whole thing with rubbing alcohol, this ensures the paint to stick. You can sand it too to make the paint stick but you would have to put a bunch of coats of paint to make it smooth.

flat black, can come out blotchy, if you dont spray correctly and evenly.

if you use bumper spray, i think it looks the best, compared to all other flat based products.

also, it wont chip as easily.

I used high heat flat black engine paint on my CRX Si lip. the only reason i used it was because it was all i had at the house and i didnt want to go out and get some (i live in a small town and the nearest discount is far away). Suprisingly, the lip hasnt chipped or anything and is still in great shape after a couple months

krylon ultra flat black exterior paint
But you must first primer th elip, or the paint will flake off in a week. Rocks will destroy the finish. Just lay down 2-3 coats of primers, use 800-900 grit sandpaper and make it as smooth as a babys butt. Apply the paint in long passing motions and make sure you dont make any drips.

After that, let stand over night. Then next morning you wake up in your jammies and put that lip on..take pictures..and tell us what you think.
Hope that help

Thanks
Rob

I just bought Dupli-Color Bumper Coating form Autozone. I like their high temp paint so i figured i'd stick with their brand. This paint has a flex agent in it that allows it to flex and not chip. The can says to use adhesion promoter as a base coat to increase adhesion of the paint, should i do that or is it ok to clean the lips well and paint with light layers untill it's covered? I never primed my valve cover when i painted it and it came out great.
