D Series Axle Question.
I have a noise going on in the front end of my '91 crx dx. It only happens when i'm turned 3/4 to full lock in either direction. It's not a clicking noise like a bad cv. It's a metal on metal grinding noise. It's really loud and makes the steering wheel turn back and forth a bit. I thought maybe it was a bad wheel bearing but I don't get any noise at all going down the road. If it turns out to be a cv shaft and I have to get new axles here is my second question: I know I can't use HF or SI axles because of spline difference but can I use axles out of any of the 92-95 civics or do I have to stick to 88-91? The reason I ask is because I live near a pick and pull that always has new cars coming in and alot of time they have many new parts. Thanx in advance for the info.
i for one wouldnt even bother with axles from a yard...unless they were brand spankin new. and the si axles will work on your dx. just not the hf model axles. and id pull those tires off and take a look at your suspension and ball joints. see if anything wiggles around
