theres an awd wagovan that i wana pick up but its auto. would it be hard to find a 5 speed tranny for it? would everything else from a civic work? ive never messed with an awd civic before so i wana know whats all different from a fwd?

 

the manual transmission for the AWD is different from any of the 2wd transmissions and is actually a 6-speed - going to be harder to find than just any old 88-91 transmission but can be found - you would also need all of the manual AWD shift linkage, the manual intermediate axle shaft and the manual AWD transmission mounts - you would need the manual transmission ECU and you will need to make some wiring changes

of course, you would need to do all of the other things involved in switching any auto to manual, like pedals, clutch cable, flywheel, clutch, etc.

 

so you basicly need a awd donor car that sucks. what about if it was allready manual trans could you do a b swap to it? maybe with a crv tranny? but that would be hard to come by too.
