Ok, so I have been looking for a set of tri-y headers for my ls, but dont want to spend an arm and a leg. I realize you get what you pay for and the headers im looking at may not be perfect, but I want to know if these headers http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-T...Q5fAccessories
are actually the TDM brand that everybody raves about. On HT a guy from this company sells headers from TDM for $350+, and these are only $180 and claim to be "TDM", so im wondering are these actuyally what they claim to be? Has anybody used them before? And before everybody starts bashing cheap ebay headers, I had a set of $40 ebay headers on my single for 3 years with no problems except for the middle gasket blew out, which I fixed with liquid gasket and never had another problem, and when I switched over to DC headers, I felt a noticeable LOSS in power, so ebay headers are not ALL bad. From what I can tell all the ebay headers that are tri-y style all look the same, just some are more expensive then others, but if its all "ebay junk" why would I buy the more expensive one, thats probably the same as the rest? Anyway this one is the cheapest and most promising looking of the bunch in my opinion, but I would like some other opinions.

 

Real and replica don't mix. So you're asking "Are these good copies of a copied header?"

every header on ebay that says hytech and is under 500 is the same f'in thing just sold by different companies.

 

Thats what I figured, anybody had personal experience with these particular headers? Really trying to make a decision about what to do this week, so I can get my car back on the road.

 

save your money and leave your car stock.

 

I use that exact same one on my ls/vtec. Great header for the price. But yes, it is a knock off.

They are cheap, getting them together is a pain, getting them on the car is a pain and the thin steel makes for a noisey header....however, for $180 you can't go wrong.

Aren't all of the Tri-Y replicas made in the same place to the same specs? I seriously doubt their are multiple places manufacturing them.

Unless you car is stock ride height I wouldn't buy them, they'll get trashed on the first spped bump.

Nothing wrong with Ebay headers, sure they may not fit like a $500 header but what the hell, you could buy 3 of the ebay specials and likely get one that fits perfect for the same price! lol. I got one on my wifes LS and love it, bolted up perfect and haven't ever had a problem with it.

 

i just put these on a car this week fit good no issues so far we will see

what the link for the big tube ones and whats the price?

 

first off, whats your setup? if stock then, you dont need this header. no point of buying this unless your motor is built.

 

rmf narrow long tube header is better, numbers are out to prove it as well.
