Just starting this morning everytime I start my car my maint. req. light flashes for about 5 seconds then turns off. any ideas what I should look for. It never did this before.

 

after a while it'll start staying on all the time... don't worry though, it's just a reminder to have your regularly scheduled maintenance done. if you're up to date, or you do the work yourself you can reset the light.

with the key in the 'OFF' position hold the 'SET/RESET' button on the instrument cluster. turn the key to 'ON/RUN' (but don't start the engine) continue holding the button. hold for about 10-15 seconds. the maint. light will come on solid then turn off. you're done, the light is reset for the next 7500 miles or so (whatever the maintenance interval is).
