Default F23a1 Engine with a Gsr Tranny.

I was told I could do a 5 speed swap with a gsr tranny on to my F23a1 engine but I was told I would need some kind of an adapter can anyone tell what that is? and Could someone give me a list of what I will need for this 5 speed swap.
Thank you.

I wouldn't do that if I were you.plus I hear them adapters are expensive. If anything I'd get an H22 tranny.

H-series and F-series share the same block design. because the H swaps are more common, everyone defaults to calling it H2B.

sure B-series transmissions are good if you have a chassis that came with a B-series (in one model or the other...) but this adapter plate that someone told you you could use is gonna run you more than an H22/23, F20B transmission with LSD..!

try looking for an H22/23 or F20B transmission. it'll have shorter gears than your F23 and should bolt right in without any adapters or modifications.

i just checked.. $749 for the QSD kit w/o mounts, and over $900 for the Evolution Industries kit.

for which tranny? B series or H series?

if you are still thinking b series, here are a couple threads I found real fast that have already covered this...

Won't work on a Accord Chasis. Only in Tegs & Civics.

I found a seller that has an H22 Tranny but it comes with nothing but the tranny case. How much would that cost for just the H22 Tranny case?

Are you actually doing it or just throwing out ideas from what you've seen/read?

andy i am also doing to g23 Frankenstein motor with my f23 bottom end and h22 head
a few things to remember you have to convert to obd1 or you will have issues with the tunning but it can be done with obd2
also you will need a f23 and h22 water pump
press the gear from the h22 wp into the f23 housing
also the f23 bottom end has 6 oil ports wile the h22 head will have 8
plug 2 of them by treading some bolts into the ports and use a h23 head gasket
this may differ from head to bottom end
you will have to run your own water pipng also and the swap i have found says to use a b series trans but save your self h22 all the way but i am going to put a b20 crv trans with the transfer case and see if i can get awd out of it if any one has any idea on that one let me know

oh i almost for got you will also need a the h22 timing cog also the timming is the most important part of this swap !!!!!!!!!!
