So I wanna get rid of my power steering. but i don't want to have a reservoir for my power steering fluid (in the process of a full tuck). some people are telling me to just loop it and call it good. i've heard and actually seen steering racks dry up and lock up.

so my question is if the problem is the rack getting dried up, could i just fill the rack with some silicon grease and close it up with pipe endings? i have a civic cx steering rack available but i don't want to deal with the crapping steering ratio and don't want to buy gears to shorten up the ratio.
