Looking to buy a 1991 honda civic wagon that has 156k miles on it. One problem it has it that the key has to be held over to keep the car running. I was thinking maybe a iginition switch or something inside the column? The car is pretty cheap figured this might be and easy fix to get a 3rd car and let the coupe sit and get worked on. Any help would be highly apprechiated thanks.

sounds like its probably an ignition switch problem though. test it!

Thanks for the responses, I'm going to go check out the car tomorrow probably. Other than the ignition it needs a new driver side window and its golden.

 

Just change the circular white part attached behind the ignition two screws and disconnect the plug and it comes right out

 

just get a new ignition, that happened in my old project integra and i just got an ignition and like magic it worked like normal.
