2002 honda Civic 1.7 Diesel 3dr
Hi All,
I have the above and it has proved fantastic until recently
The engine management light keeps coming on and the engine goes into "limp" mode.
Can anyone please advise if the car is OBD2 compatible, it does have the multi pin plug located under the dash, driver's side.
I am considering buying a fault code diagnosis scanner to pinpoint the problem but really need confirmation of compatability first, all the scanners I've looked at so far say that diesels before 2004 may not be?
Needless to say my local Honda dealership are not very forthcoming, they just want me to take the car in to them so they can then present me with a nice big bill
Any help advice would be gratefully recieved

The SAE required that all vehicles 1996 and newer be OBDII compliant. So, i would have to say that yes an OBDII code reader should work fine. As far as where the data link connecter would be, I assume it would be at the drivers right kick pannel area and look up.
