Bizarre....sounds like a marble fell into my heating duct. I now hear something rattling around when I steer and turn on the fan. I turn left, it rolls to the driver's side. I turn right it rolls to the passenger side. Now it has lodged itself in the blower, and it is making a horrible grumbling/vibrating noise, so I don't want to use the fan. Anyone ever have something like this?

 

no but you should be able to remove the blower motor and inspect the fan. I think its three screws and some gentle pulling and you'll be able to check.

lol something small probably fell into your heater duct. possibly a part of the blower motor (like a screw) or something that was on your dash fell down there (like a tictac). be careful not to break the actuators (not sure if this is the right term for them but they are similar) on your glovebox when you disconnect them. mine were broken by the previous owner and now the glove box falls onto my passengers knees if i am lucky enough to have one, otherwise it folds all the way down and everything dumps out of it onto the floor when i try to open it unless i hold it which is harder than it sounds from the drivers seat.

 

How's this....ACORNS! My mechanic got to the blower under/behind the glovebox, and a ~12 acorns came tumbling out. Somehow a squirrel got acorns into my ducts. We are at loss. The car lives outside, and there are oak trees at the end of my driveway, but windows and sunroof are always shut. The outside air access under the hood near the firewall is intact....no breaks or splits in the plastic. Where else could they come from?

 

oh wow lol. i think think that beats my tictac idea. haha i expected something more like a screw or something.
