Kinda OT: Just bought an orbital buffer...
...And I assumed I was going to use this to "buff" the wax off of my car after applying it by hand like I always do.
However, the instructions that came with the buffer (albeit sparse) lead me to believe that I should be APPLYING the wax WITH the buffer! I'm not sure how this would work.
It's been a while since I waxed, but I remember covering the whole car with the stuff and dabbing it on little by little (mothers canuba wax).
Is there something I am missing? Care to enlighten me...
TIA

You can do both with an orbital buffer
Though most leave the wax/sealant to hand application and removal, and save the buffer for swirl removers and polishes.

So waht would you guys reccomend I use the buffer for? I have many swirl marks on my car and would love to "hide" them...

you can use it for both if you like.. I don't know about your buffer but mine came w/ 2 buffer attachment clothes... they are of different material..
one looks more smooth and that one is used to apply the wax... the other has more fibers and that one is to buff off the wax... buffers work good on cars w/o much lines/curves.. I still have to touch up on waxing and buffing by hand because of the curves and everything... like on the curves on the bumper, the side mirrors, the stock wing, etc.. I touch those up by hand but on flat surfaces like the hood, doors, fenders, etc.. it works fine...
