Weird Battery Problem (no constant Volts reading)
Hi everyone!
My car is draining the battery whenever I dont use it, and I tested the alternator and battery already. The alternator was tested with a voltmeter and it reads around 14.6v - 15v at Iddle and the battery was tested in autozone and they told me it was ok...
However, I installed the battery after it was charged, I read the battery with a voltmeter it reads around 12.5v but quickly drops to like 7V- 5V and then it comes back to 12.5 and then goes back to 7v and goes back to 12.5v.. and it keeps going like this, there is no constant reading. I know this reading is supposed to be constant but its not.... so I am thinking that maybe I have a bad relay? Not sure if its the main relay because the car starts fine and the fuel pump works... maybe some of the battery cells are dead?
another test I did is that I started the car, I removed the battery (car still running) and then I measured the positive and ground terminals and it does the same thing, it goes down to 7 and it goes up to like 14.
Has anybody experienced something like this?
BTW this is for a 1991 Civic DX
Thanks

You might have some bad grounds somewhere.
It hasn't anything to do with a relay, sorry.
Check all + and - connections. Clean them and make syure they're nice and snug.
