swaping from b16a3 obd1 longblock to a b16a obd0 longblock a direct swap?
ok just some quick questions to clear things up. bought a low mileage b16a obd0 longblock to replace a b16a3 obd1 motor in a 93 civic hatchback. everything will just be interchangable right? i plan to just swap all my components over to keep it obd1 and just using the jdm b16a obd0 longblock (head and bottom block). my question is i can just still use my b16 hydro tranny right cuz i know that b16a obd0 comes with cable tranny.
Yes you can still use your hydro tranny and clutch. As you had said, just keep everything obd1 and you'll be fine.
the thermostat housing sensor/fan switch is different from what I know from OBD0 to OBD1. just change that.. cause for OBD1 its on the thermostat housing and for OBD0 it's on the back of the block.
This is true, fortunately, it takes on a couple of mins to swap over the housing being it is only 2 screws, and maybe think about a new thermostat at the same time!
