Polishing Starion intercooler???
Paint it black so no one knows you have it.... Sleeper.
If you want to polish, I just recommend something to the effect of 100 or 150 grit sanding. Make sure you sand it so there are no dark spots, flaws, etc. The time you sand it is going to be the finish you see once its polished, so make it clean. All of the other grits are just going to smooth the first one out. So use the 100 or 150 to get it clean and free of flaws. Next just go up through the different grits, 320, 400, 600, 1200 maybe 1500. Sand until the sanding marks from the previous grit are gone. At the end, I HIGHLY recommend using MAAS polish. I've used a lot of different polishes over the years, and none work as quickly or as well as MAAS in my opinion. You'll be looking at it thinking that it doesn't look good enough, you slap on the MAAS, polish it up, and you can see yourself after one light coat of polish.

You'll probably want to start with at least 200. 100-150 is going to make deep scratches that will be tough to get out with the other grits.
Depending on how deep any casting/stray marks are you should use a lower grit accordingly... work your way down so as to not do any overkill... then work back up to about 2000 grit. Make sure you remove ALL little casting dimples before you try to buff it to that mirror shine... check out my website for some pictures....
