Default gx pistons specs.

been looking to possibly do a gx piston/ ls rod combo but im having trouble finding consistant specs. i hear people using the same combo getting a high 11 to 1 cr. if i use zealautowerks specs i get a low 12 to 1 cr. and some specs i find when i put it in a calc will get me a high 12 to 1 cr. which is too high. just seeing if anyone knows for sure what the specs are on the pdna00 pistons. thanks

zealautowerks is pretty close on compression ratios for alot of the D series stuff. I think its correct to say that it will be 12 compression, because the GX has over 12:1 CR.

it depends on your setup. 300WHP would be the limit for the rods.

would depend on your timing. They might be able to handle 300HP. You should probably get them treated with ceramic coating or something if your going on alot of spray.

yea ive looked into coatings and probably will go with one and do it myself. the pistons should be in next week and im in no rush to just throw it together and have it not run right. got any suggestions on a coating? i plan on 100shot or more depending on my egt's and other things

i know bisimoto offers ceramic coating, and thats the only coating that he offered. So thats what i would recommend. I read about ceramic coatings, and they are supposed to be very good for nitrous setups.

Coating doesn't make them any stronger...

not physically stronger, but more resistant to heat/warping/melting.

alright ill check them out and do some research. i know they just add a thermal barrier and dont make them physically stronger but as far as nitrous goes ur mainly concerned about melting ne ways.

The ring land thickness and what material the piston is made of is most important.

and how good the cast/forging is. Look at Vitara pistons, they are just aluminum cast pistons and they hold 400+ HP. The current record on them is 634WHP.
