what in the hell did you just say? first of all its 88-91, second the hf or "high fuel economy" was a crx trim level that featured a WHOPPING 1.5L 62 HP monster. and NO its not a cx, the cx is a civic hatch trim level that did not appear until 92.

Actually this guy is from canada where they had the cx before 92. Maybe they didn't offer the HF in canada. Just a guess.

Canada did have the CX before 1992. Here in the US, the same car was called the STD (Standard HB). The Civic STD, by the way, is another great car for swaps.

i have both models, i have a crx hf and a civic std. and yes if you look in the true honda manual it says cx for the canada version

 

I think it's actaully around 1890 for the 91 model......crash supports, impact beams, the dooor mounted seat belts.....Those all added weight, '88 was the lightest years for all the trims HF,DX or Si
