Hey HT im askin this for a buddy of mine an im not sure at all really!


Ok so this is wat he aksed me lol.

Will a 99 accord vtec motor if an his 97 accord. he just want to know bec he can get the engine for 200 bucks. an he knows nothing about cars an its for his family.

So if u guys can help me out?

Slow down there chief. This isn't instant tech on this side of the forum.

But to answer your question. Yes it will fit. Where he knows nothing about cars. He probably should have asked a local garage what they can or cannot do.

I suggest that he makes sure the garage that he gets to do the swap knows what they are doing. Ask the garage for references of there previous swap work. Or if he is getting a local backyard mechanic to help out. He/She should have a basic knowledge of what engine fits in what chassis and what parts are required to do the swap.

There are Accord engine swap threads everywhere on the interwebz!

 

sorry man he just keep buggen me over an over 2 find out 4 him.

An he is just going to have some of his boys do it 4 him.

But wat harness is he going 2 have 2 use? can he just use his stock 97 harness or does he have 2 use the 99 engine harness?

No its not for performance. he just needs a car for his 2 kids an he got a shell for like 500 or something an can get a 99 engine for 200 bucks so he just want 2 know if it will work.

He any got a lot of money. so i just need 2 know wat harness 2 use bec ghost said it would fit. ooo an do u need mounts or is it juat a drop in?

you will need to reuse your 97 accord intake manifold and stock engine harness

if its an auto you need to reuse your 97 accord flex plate also
