Default Differences between Hydro and Cable clutches

Hey all, wondering if you could help me out.

I found a great deal on an Exedy clutch but it is for a 90 civic/crx (cable tranny).

The problem is that I have a 93 Civic dx with a hydro tranny.

Before you flame, please note that I have done my research and found little. I heard that you can interchange these different clutches but a throw out bearing is needed to match the year of the car it is being fitted into. Am I close or totally off?
