need info on gs-r and type R.
Ive owned an 91 accord, 2 94 integra and a 97 prelude... then got into the mazdaspeed world and left honda stuff behind. untill now im building a 1991 honda accord. anyways i know a guy who bought a 2000 integra it has no type r badges inside or outside. does not have the wing or lip kick, no red valve cover. it does have the tail lights and the 5 bolt hubs... wtf? every day I wake up i find something new about integras... like the random convertable ones... my boss told me he found that they made a gsr-type r hybrid.... is this true? and does anyone know or have a good true site that will tell about this?

well I just remember reading about there only be like a few hundred or something convertables brought to the usa. anyways but ya the car is owned by my bosses brother and he was looking to buy it. we put it on the dyno last week ... "the kid who sold it said it was bone stock only intake and exhuast and he was the only owner..." the car put down almost 300whp... another question the black type r's where they kinda purple or was that a gs-r color? ive never seen a black r in real life. So you are telling me there is no suck thing as like a factory GS-r/type R hybrid?
There were two black Rs, NHBP (2001) and FBP (2000). The dark violet Integra was exclusive to 2000 GSRs only. It was purple but looked black in low lighting.
From the factory, there were GSRs and Type-Rs, like apples and oranges. Never was there orpples/appanges.
ok thanks guys and acually it did put down 268hp at the wheels last weekend but its also clear theres probly some computer work and internal motor work that no one was told about... also whats the deal on convertables? I remember reading about japan building like 100 of them and shipping them to the usa? also I've seen one in person and if that was an aftermaket project that was damn good work... its really hard to trust stuff when I have poeple telling me different things on here...?

lol, this thread is full of win.
here's is the super-rare JDM Type C (Convertible) Integra.

And a simple google search will answer most/all of your questions.
Also, please don't be so gullible. I think your boss is either really stupid or is totally screwing with you (or probably both).

< sigh >
You can tell from the VIN which model it was when it left the factory.
The taillights on the Integra Type R were exactly the same as all other 3-door Integras of the same year.
No.
No Integra convertibles (as spelled correctly) were ever brought into the U.S. from the Honda factory. There may be a few convertibles, but they were converted in the aftermarket from fixed-roof cars.
That's correct. There is no suck thing.
I recommend additional instruction in reading comprehension.
Don't trust anyone who told you that (a) the Honda factory produced convertible Integras, (b) there is a "GS-R/Type R hybrid" (from the factory, and not just something that someone cobbled together), or (c) the Type R had different taillights from other Integras. None of these three contentions is true.

There are ALOT of threads in this forum. All anyone is trying to tell you is this issue has been covered over and over again and you should easily be able to find the answer to any of your questions using the search function.
The only way to truly tell if it is an ITR or not is to look at the VIN on the firewall and make sure it starts with JH4DC231 (for a 2-door).
