So trying to start my motor (ls vtec with GE kit) for the first time. My question is whats the minimum time to crank the motor to build pressure in the oil system and start seeing oil coming out the head? do i need to have the ECU connected for this prosses? just to let you guys know that i'm using the 30W non detergent oil. tnx!

We allways just unplug the dizzy and turn the car over for about a min in 7 sec turns. I seen some people pull the vc off to make sure there is oil reaching the top.
Dude vtec gets oil fast from the sending unit. Your acting like you just rebuilt the motor! This is like saying i need to prime my vtec solenoid everytime i start my car. It will reach oil before the car turns on, anyways vtec wont budge or ingage movement untill 45 55 or so RPMs.
