Default shift linkage on a cable tranny?

okay, so i picked up a crx with a b16 in it, but i didnt know much about hondas when i got it. im now swapping in a gsr but keeping the tranny. i was told it was a j1 cable. my friend told me it has to be a hydro tranny because of the linkage. the block it stamped B16A 1210674.
and on the tranny there is a sticker that says A1-1014331. and the head is stamped pr3-2. Im so confused i tried to search but no luck. anyone know motor/tranny i have. is there any other markings that could help me determine what is what? head stamp is from a 91.

ok that was mildly confusing to say the least.. but i think you're trying to figure out if the shift linkage differs between the 2 trans you have and if they are different when switching to a hydro trans. they are not. doesn't matter what type of b-series 5 speed tranny it is, they will all use the same b-series into ef shift linkage

it seems you have the first gen. b16a and an A1 Cable transmission. The shift linkage that came with the crx will work fine with any B-series transmission you decide to put in.

now, when you order a clutch kit make sure you order one for 90-93.

I made a similar post today on this topic. Everyone is telling me that you have to get an aftermarket shift linkage like the one from hasport or get one from a DA integra and shorten it but cutting and re welding it.

yes but the OP in this thread already has a Bseries swap in his car. So he already has the modified shift linkage.

If you are going to do a complete swap you have to either buy a Shatsport one or modify one.
