Towing with 2000 accord coupe 4cyl auto
I read some other threads on here about towing...
My question is if its ok to tow a 2000lb total boat and trailer from Florida to Long Island NY one time?
The accord has 82k on the engine and 40k on my tranny... replaced cause of the recall.

Oh wow... thats quite the distance.
MAYBE, and thats a big maybe, it would be able to do it.
Would it be safe? Not at all.
Would I recommend it? Not at all.
I would borrow or rent a proper vehicle for towing. Save yourself the hassle.

I believe the engine and tranny would handle it fine since that drive is flat as a board. Brakes? I don't know. I would certainly take it really slow with traffic around. I would also plan on passing through traffic nightmares like DC in the wee hours when there is light traffic.
A much better option would be to pay someone with the correct vehicle to tow it. You could run an ad on craigslist or the local paper in florida since there are many people making that drive all the time. I would think that someone might do it for a reasonable fee. You could even check with vehicle movers. The pricemight not be that bad. I know a guy who had a mustang trailered from NC to mass for 350. Truckers are hungry these days and will work cheaply.
