cant tell if vtec is popping,need help
im having a bit of an issue here,i have a 94 jdm sohc zc,i bought an rpm activated switch,i had my friend install the switch,but i cant feel the vtec at all,and i remember my friend had an 89 hatch with a d16z6 and i felt the vtec crossover,but in my hatch i dont feel a thing,i need someone to tell me if youre supposed to feel it in this motor cause i dont feel nothing,thanx

does your car still pull when vtec is suppose to engage? if it lags once vtec is suppose to engage then yea vtec is not engaging. if its still pulling then it's working..nice vtec crossovers are soundless
then you're fine. as always people like to brag about how loud vtec is but thats not the point. smooth vtec crossover is what you want...the pitch of it is fairly unnoticeable
im just concerned cause i've felt vtec crossover on single cams before,but i was thinking of running my vtec to a toggle switch for a minute just to see if its really working,if i feel something then probably my relay burnt out,what do you think..
if your relay burnt out your car wouldnt start. not all cars are the same. if you think vtec is not engaging then check your oil level, clean your vtec solenoid screen. usually if there was any issue with vtec you would either have a CEL or due to low oil
i'll clean the solenoid tomorow,thanks for the help,sorry for all the questions,this is my first vtec motor.dont really know alot about vtec problems..
