90 Si w/B18C, New Dizzy still getting Code 8...WTF
I just finished my swap and fired her up Monday evening. I first got a code 8, it didn't want to idle right. It idled very low and would die. I had an LS dizzy laying around, so I swapped the TDC sensor out. Next time starting it, it idles very high, above 3k and climbing. This time I get a code 9. So I figured, after doing some reading and making a few phone calls, my dizzy is bad. I picked up a new one and installed it last night. First crank, it fires up, idles high still and a code 8. TDC sensor. I don't know what the hell is wrong. Any ideas?

You need to do continuity tests on the TDC wires to and from the ecu, and at the same time making sure the pins are plugged into their respective spots at the ecu. In fact, do this for all of the distributor wires. Also, make sure all of the wire colors match each other (on each side of the plug) at the distributor. Those wires all look very similar to each other with only a trace of color on them making the difference...basically its very easy to mismatch wires there.
The fact that your engine is obd2 has almost nothing to do with what jumper you used. Its really not a big deal.

Well, the continuity on the distributor circuits are good. I'm still getting the Code 9. Cylinder 1 Position Sensor. Plus it still wants to idle a 4k. I have no clue what's wrong or how to fix it.....
So you've checked continuity, now check if the pins are in the right spot at the ecu. Pinouts can be found all over..just google it and search. Trace the wires back thru the jumper and to the ecu.
You are experiencing 2 different codes when swapping distributors (code 8 and 9)? IMO, I'd be more inclined to trust a used oem Honda distributor than one from Advance.

May be related, may not. Code fixed first, then worry about the idle. there are a few things on mechanical related that can cause a high idle as well.
Im sure you can warranty exchange for another distributor right? If you get the same code with the next one, chances are you have a wiring issue and you overlooked something.

double check to make sure your jumper harness is right. i have a rywire and i was getting a CPK code turned out the obd0-obd1 harness was wrong from the obd0 side they were running to empty ports on the obd1 side. 2 of my wires on the dizzy plug were also reversed (common mistake with old wiring)
