Need Some Help Please
It's not my car but I need to change out my mom's shock absorbers on her 1999 Civic
. Does anyone know of a thread that shows you or tells you how to do it? Is it hard? If you just have some information that'd be great. Thanks
Chris

this is for a teg and for installing coilovers, but the steps are identical... http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/c...r/coilover.php
you will have frozen bolts in the rear lower control arm if you live in an area that has rain or snow at any time.

It's pretty easy, first undo the brake line bolts from the damper unit. Undo the Damper Fork lower bolt, then remove the pinch bolt from the fork that secures the shock. Undo the 2-3 bolts up top under the hood and the coilover should just drop 2-3". Push down on the wheel disc brake and you should gain enough clearance to remove the shock all together, installation is reverse of removal. Make sure you get the torque specifications for each bolt. REAR: Remove the bolts on the top that secure the coilover to the body. remove the lower fork bolt that secures the coilover to the lower control arm, remove the sway bar bushing bolt that connects it to the lower control arm. Remove the upper control arm and the entire piece will drop a bit. Installation is reverse of removal. When i replace my front struts i will do a DIY. Hope this helps a bit
oh, and the job is about 2.5 hours with normal tools.
