Disable OBD2 Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor?
Is there any way to disable the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor on a 1998 USDM ITR
37820-P73-A03 Ecu so it doesn't throw a P0450 and P0453 CEL? I need to run a USDM ITR ecu in a 1997 GSR but the GSR doesn't have a fuel tank pressure sensor, which the 1998 ITR ecu is looking for. Need to pass smog asap and no one has a 1997 USDM ITR ecu for sale for under $350.

use the 97 GSR ECU for a couple days to clear the readiness flags, baby the engine till you run through testing then swap back. You'll be fine.
that is unless you're in cali, then you're going to have to tackle the FTP.
(there is a resistor trick to bypass the FTP but it's hit or miss)

I'm not that up on cali emissions, but I always thought they checked the block ID and that had to match the ECU ID. So B18C1 had to line up with P72, but honeslty I don't know.
you could try the resistor trick and keep your fingers crossed. other than that you'd need to convert the line out of your tank into the valve and pressure sensor.
this is why I like chicago emissions.

Normal smog stations dont' check ecu code to block codes, just state referee, which I have been to also. But for normal smog station they hook up their scanner to your obd2 port and make sure its an obd2 ecu and all the MIL/CEL test pass. A stock USDM ITR ecu will pass as long as all the sensor, vacuum lines, etc are hooked up and functioning. But since the 1997 GSR doesn't come with a FTP, the 1998 ITR ecu throws a CEL. So I'm gonna try installing a FTP sensor since it's only about $40 from the junk yard, and I'll run the wires to the ecu and the vacuum line to the evap system. That beats paying $540 for a 1997 ITR ECU from Acura
If all they are checking for is OBD2 communication and codes, I'd go with my original idea, run the 97 P72 for a couple of days, just baby the car.
As long as you keep your foot out of it you'll be fine.
that is if you have the 97 P72... if you don't and you have to get past the state ref as well, go with the P73 and the FTP sensor.
