Default rear disks onto 97 EX, interchangeability

Hello everyone!

I hope you guys and girls can stomach another rear disk conversion question! I've read everything I can find but have some nagging questions: BTW--I'm going to use the "scarebird" brackets, unless someone can tell me why not to....

Due to limited boneyard parts, I can get Integra caliper brackets, but not del sol brackets. I've read they are the same/interchangeable/workable. True?

I plan on buying new 99 Si calipers, and new del sol parking brake cables (based on cost--the del sol cables are a few bucks cheaper each...) will the cables work? will the Si calipers bolt to the Integra brackets? I wanted the Si calipers because I read they're better--opinions on better caliper?

New proportioning valve for Si...new pads of course.

All help appreciated!

all 90-01 civic/integra (except type-r) with rear disc all interchange; rear calipers (stamped 7clp13s), rear disc brackets, 9.4" rotors, pads. according to your post, you're planning to use integra brackets w/ civic si calipers; they'll bolt-up fine. there's no real adavntage of using 99-00 civic si rear calipers vs other 90-01 civic/integra rear calipers or brackets, just look at it as they're newer so they don't have as much mileage on em. good idea to pick up brake lines from any 90-01 civic/integra w/ rear discs since your drum hoses will be too short. not sure about the length & fitment of the del sol e-brake cables since i am unfamiliar with them; but based on your wheelbase & chassis, i'd recommend 99-00 civic si or 94-00 integra e-brake cables on your 97 civic ex.

Thanks for the input. I am getting junk yard calipers strictly for a core exchange. The brackets I feel safe using. My choice of Si calipers was a recommendation I read. And based on another thread, I was hoping to avoid Integra park brake wires because of fitment; the del sol cables are cheaper, but maybe I should keep the calipers and cables the same.....maybe both del sol

as i stated in my previous post, all 90-01 civic/integra rear disc calipers are stamped 7CLP13S; they will interchange will all brackets, pads & rotors within 90-01 civic & integra rear discs; there is no "better" rear disc calipers or brackets, they are all the same.

1. why do you think the 99-00 si or del sol rear calipers are "better?"

2. why are you hoping to avoid integra e-brake cables?

again, with the del sol e-brake cables, not sure the length & fitment will work on your 97 civic ex; 99-00 civic si or 94-00 integra e-brake cables are better suited for your chassis & wheelbase.
