Thanks to some tips from hardcorehonda i painted my valve cover with a nice result IMO, lemme know what u guys think of my handy work...

well this is what I did
1. clean valve cover
2. cover raised lettering with vasoline
3. buy Engine Enamel high heat Universal gray, universal red, and clear
4. heavy coat it with gray (wait til dry, u can used a hairdryer to speed this up but just be careful u dont start to melt the vasoline)
5. from about a meter away mist on some red (alow to dry)
6. mist some gray from about a meter away
repeat steps 5 and 6 until it get lookin like the type R red, the texture should be there at this point, by misting it creates the texture.
7. a few lightly misted coats from about a meter away, this helps add to the texture and protects,
8. I used a razor and scraped off the paint on the letter, (comes off easy due to the vasoline. )
I want to take the time to thank hardcorehonda cuz it was originally his idea and directions that i used. any questions welcome, thanks for the compliments.

mine was OEM silver, no paint on it,
the paint is plasti-kote universal gray #202
plasti-kote universal red #209
