Default LS/VTEC piston/valve interference questions.

I'm building an LS/VTEC and have some questions about piston/valve interference on these engines.

I'm using a B18B1 (LS) block, and a PR3 (B16) head.

I would LIKE to use the P30 pistons for the 11.5:1 (or so) compression.

I'm wondering if anyone's used this set up, then used adjustable cam gears for fine tuning. What I'm worried about is the engine working just fine with no advance/retard on the cams, but then when I adjust them the valves will interfere with the pistons. While I don't intend to go crazy and get mega aggressive - I really just want to tune it to run well - it still worries me.

Does anyone have any experience here? Everything work fine? Problems? Disasters? If I have to, I'll just clay it and see, but I wonder if anyone here can help.

Thanks

Default Re: LS/VTEC piston/valve interference questions.

I hate to bump, but while searching through old threads made it seem like this wouldn't be a problem, I'd like to know if anyone's got direct experience. It's hard to tell what people are running sometimes, descriptions can be oblique.

Thanks
