Re-greasing the intermediate shaft?
I have an old DA Integra intermediate shaft. I am replacing the outer seal on it, but it doesn't spin very well. I'm thinking of using some wheel bearing grease on it, but how much should I use? Should I be conservative with the amount I use or just slap a big amount in there?
if you put too much the extra will just come out and make a mess thats all. However if a bearing is hard to turn sometimes its worse than just being dry.
It's not "hard" to turn, its just that it doesn't spin as freely as some other ones I've had. I'm thinking a little grease will do the trick, I'm just not sure if there is anywhere in particular to lube inside the shaft.
I figured out my own problems... I removed the outer seal, cleaned out the gunk, sprayed some Aero-Kroil and let it seep and then used Lucas 540 drop point bearing grease with a brand new outer seal and she spins like a dream
