Default pr3 pistons w/ gsr rods in gsr block with b16 head?

Will pr3 pistons do me any good with my gsr block and b16 head? What good can i get out of this with the rest of my setup
I've searched but found nothing except for pr3 in full gsr motor but i got a b16 head.. Thanks

Ok I'm kinda on budget here. this is a setup im considering. Any input is greatly appreciated. Im not too knowledgeable on this part.
I have a b18c1 with a b16 head that has type R valvetrain (accordingly). Its how I got it.
So now

PR3 81mm pistons
Stock Gsr rods
Stock gsr block.

JDM B16 Head will be match ported
Skunk2 Cam Gears
ITR Intake Manifold with hondata IM gasket
blueprinted balanced etc
2.5 exhaust
hytech replica

you don't need to knife edge the crank, especially for street use. You also don't need the CTR crank pulley either, run the stock one. Your throttle body is a little big, I would use stock if I were you on that build or no bigger than a 68mm. No mention of the cams you're using but at that comp ratio, you'd be much better off using something larger than ITR/CTR's. What kind of tuning system are you using?

ITR pistons will fit the GSR rods without modification unlike the B16 pistons.

Does that apply to oem only or to both aftermarket... because these are after market and in regards to that i thought oem needed modification to fit them... correct if wrong thanks

Pistons from RaceAxis will clear GSR rods, OEM pistons will not.

IMO the ITR piston is better designed piston as well making no real reason to go with a B16 piston. Any reason you feel more inclined to use the B16 Pistons?

I'm running USDM ITR pistons in my GSR. Runs great because of the tuning. Make sure you get it tuned.
About 11.6:1 compression, block and head have been machined a bit.
With GSR cams and the GSR manifold I made 170-175whp.
Then with ITR cams 180-184whp still with the GSR manifold.
I now run a Performer X manifold with ITR cams, no dyno numbers yet, winter gas sucks. I expect 195-200whp.
Not the most budget minded build.
I take it your car is a daily driver, maybe some weekend track duty?

I'm running a B16 head not gsr... Yes I plan on DD prolly not doing any track time.. RARELY!!! I'm doing this because I have to take the motor apart due to bad rings and I am seeing what I can do for a slight power gain... might as well since im taking it apart.. besides the fact that I saw some guy offer these pistons for a good price..

I was considering CTR pistons but I read it raises comp too high!!! how would that work in my setup? and what head gasket would work best? Considering my setup drops in CR, I would think ctr pistons would be ok but also is the fact that the clearances are too close.. Thanks

If your getting the B16's for a good deal by all means go that route, if you are sure they will work with your GSR rods.

CTR pistons are commonly considered to be a bad designed piston that will make your compression too high.

This looks like a decent deal if you are on a budget
