Default Need Help Selecting Exhaust Size for my Build

I was thinking of buying a pre-made 2.5" exhaust made at Kteller for my 93 Civic hatch or the Skunk2 Megapower R exhaust which is 2.5" but then they came out with the Megapower RR exhaust which is 3":

3" isnt overkill....
yes 2.5" would be fine but with 3" he will gain some power from it. if hes doing a new exhaust system may as well spend the extra few bucks for easy cheap power.
get your 3" piping here http://www.vrsexhaust.com/TUBING_KIT.../honda_tk.html

My engine is 2 liters - I think maybe 2.5 inches may be a little restrictive...

just get the 3" and be done with it

you will not regret it. if its too loud for you put a bigger resonator on it

kteller buys there pipe from vrs and resells it higher price
finally someone else chimes in about this.

Go 3in without a doubt with a nice 24" resonator and a straight through muffler from vibrant/maganflow/ES and you'll be good

well thats great but were talking tubing kits here not other products. VRS sells the mild steel kit for 92-00 civic 2.25" for 125, you sell it for 215. Whats wrong with that picture. Your full exhaust is nothing more than a resonator and maganflow muffler welded up with hangers for 400 and you have a bolt on kit. Basically your special stuff is pre-fabbed piping kits.

Thank you Slow - I almost paid double for this tubing!!!

Thanks to all that replied - I will be going 3" but can't decide between the VRS kit of the new Skunk2 MegaPower RR kit:

Ok thank you Slow!

I'll spend the money I saved to buy a traction bar - is Full-Race my best choice for a '93 Civic hatch?

Definitely go with the 3 inch system. I have it on my 2.0 L GSR with 3 inch vibrant muffler. Skunk2 is nice but gonna be very loud.

I contacted VRS on their tubing kit for the Civic and found out it's universal so I'll have to have it cut to lenght at the muffler shop and also have the resonator and muffler welded for my hatch which is obviously shorter than the coupe.

I'm woindering if the extra cost of the muffler shop along with the cost of the tubing kit will put me near the cost of the Skunk2 RR which is basically bolt-on...

If you have a Mig and a chop saw, its really easy to put together. Also, I think the VRS kits come with slip fittings and clamps.

the vrs kit will only need to be cut for adding in the resonator, other than that its weld/clamp up. It has slip fit joints that can be clamped. They also have hatch specific systems so that should not be a problem

That's what I would think but the website only shows one model and when I contacted them, they told me I had to cut it to fit my hatch.

That is true and one reason why we offer a different range of different products. VRS is known for making a standard 'style' and you have to make major adjustments. They use the same pipes for all civics (coupe/sedan/hatch) 92-00, yet we know they are different length and have different bend needs for those 3 body types. They do the same for accord (94-97;98-01)/prelude (92-97;98-01), yet anyone knows there is a ton of difference in these 4 gens.

If you have any more questions or concerns, we have a ton of experience with them as well as a few other items, i would be more then happy to help you directly sales@kteller.com is my email, if you need more info on anything.
