I know there are some people that have had their moldings or their antenas shaved off. I was wondering if someone could just give me a rough estimate on what it costs to have the moldings/antenna shaved off. Also if anyone happens to know a ballpark figure on a OEM 99-00 Electron Blue paint job for my 94 EG Civic. Thanks
just shaving the antenna alone is going to be expensive since not only do they have to shave it off, they would have to blend in the panel. like to shave off the rear H emblem, they also paint the side 3/4 rear panel along with the whole trunk lid so the transition is smooth. otherwise you can clearly see where the new and old paint are. i'd recommend when having the whole car repainted to have all the shavings done at that time. that's what i did, otherwise it's too much. for hood washer nozzles, they'll end up repainting the whole hood and blend in the fenders. so i would just wait when the whole car is repainted.
a good repaint should run about $2k, then about another $150-200/item(s) shaved.

Yea, i have a carbon fiber hood that does not have hood nozzles on it, so that was not a concern. I was planning on getting everything shaved and then having it painted, probably not done at the exact same time. I know this would make the car look like ****, but i'm a college student with little money. I scrape up what i can to do these mods.
a semi cheap body shop in gainesville florida charges 3 hours labor for one door, 1.5 hrs labor for front fender, 2 hrs labor for back fender. now times all this by two(the other side of the car). thats 13 hrs just for moldings.at $30 an hr thats $390 just for body work NO PAINT. it takes this long to do it properly. they have to fill in the molding with bondo, then weld a piece off metal over it and then smooth it out. make sure it is done this way(with metal welded over it and not just bondo). if it is not it will turn out with ripples in it and look like crap.

yea, i've heard that before. i actually dont need the front and rear fenders shaved, just the doors, because i am going wide body and my new fenders do not have a place for molding.

Some collision and repair shops can shave holes if you ask them to. They're extremely good at blending things in so you don't have to repaint so many other parts of your car.
Sorry, don't want to start another thread on shaving, but i was wondering if any DC2 owners out there could give me an estimate of how much it costed to shave their wings?
