91 integra - speedo doesnt work
so I have taken the gauge cluster out numerous times before, I took it out to put in a new light and after it was back together after only about a block of driving the speedo stopped working. I can drive for about 5 min until the check engine light comes on but when I turn the engine off, the light turns off too, so I am having problems with the ecu led trouble codes. I thought the cable might be bad? I removed the gauge cluster and took it around the block to see if the pin in the cable spun, it doesn't. I thought it might be disconnected from the tranny but after checking, its still hooked up with the pin and doesn't pull out without removing the pin first. Is there something else I can check before having to replace the cable? could it be something other than the cable? I heard about a speed control sensor but can't find anything about it, is that a different gen integra? any help is appreciated.
The VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) could be bad. If standing on passenger side of car looking at distributor, go below dizzy and to the left. It is located on the transmission below the thermostat housing to the left.
Uhh yes it does. Its just not electronic.
