i know this is a honda tech site,(i own a civic myself) but i've been wanting to learn more about the US 240 and the japan silvia. such as like basic info like engine codes, hp numers and model trims.
if someone could help me out right here i'd like to know:
1. what is a sr20 motor? and is it only available in japan?
2. is the US 240 sx the best thing we have closest to the japan silvia?
3. what are teh different models of the 240 and silvia?

Sr20 motors are japan only motors, make sure you get the sr20det. The 240 is the only thing in the states comparable, and they have the sil-eighty, silvia and 180sx. And the s-13, s-14, and s-15 are just the different years.

so s13 is like 1993? Also, what are the numbers on the sr20det?

 

It's got horsepower varying from 225-265 stock. Pretty bad. There are a couple of sites online that sell the engine if you search around.
