door latch part 2
Ok about a week ago I posted on how to get the latch out with the door jammed but I didn't think I was going to be able to get the interior panel off which I did (not so sure if its any good now but what you going to do) any ways so any ideas how I can either get the door open or the latch out seeing how the door is still closed and the screws holding it in are on the outside any help would be appreciated thanks O ya and its a 99 sedan
congrats on getting the panel off.
you have probably tryed this already but if not try pulling on the rod that goes from the door handle to the area with the latch. thats the easiest thing that comes to mind

yea I finally did thanks for the idea of sliding it up. I'm assuming the lever youre talking about is the one that normally attaches to the inner door handle and if so I have tried that and it doesn't work.
I found this. It might be worth taking a look at. Its pretty much what I said to try but it says you have to pull on that rod pretty hard. I'm looking for more info on this. I'll let you know if i find anthing else.

glad i could help. if you haven't done so run a google search and read a bunch of the articles. i found a ton of them but only a few seemed helpful. i didnt have time to read that many so you may just stumble onto something.
I had this problem on mine. The rod from the outside handle has to be pushed DOWN to activate the latch (even that didn't work on mine). I used a spade bit to bore a hole in the back of the plastic latch assembly from inside the door (I bought a latch assembly at a salvage yard and tore it apart to determine where I had to drill). This allowed me to get the lever inside the latch assembly to release the latch and open the door, then replacing the assembly with another good one was relatively easy. I'll see if I have another latch assembly around and post a picture with the correct drilling location.
