Hi all..

I recently got this car from a Tow yard for 400.00. it was sitting for around 3 years..

it looked like this when I got it delivered to my house...



it looks like this now after some hard work and hard time finding parts.. The V6 models front end is bigger then the 4cyl..




Any ways. Car has been running great.. but now if the car is cold it takes for ever to start... but once it starts chugging it will come to a clean idle and run great all day.. when its warm it fires right up no problems..

when it does have problems it throws 2 Cel codes.. P302 #2 cylinder misfire and P1399

Things i have changed...

plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Fuel filter. Replaced the timing belt and water pump.. motor is 100% in time..


Ive tested the coil and its in spec. Even tried to spray starting fluid in when it wont start... Still doesnt help.. Checked for spark. its there...

im so frustrated with this car...

What else could it be?? this dam starting problem is stoping me from getting the car painted..

 

you mentioned that the car sat for about 3 years..hows the fuel? did you remove as much fuel from the tank and add new gas to it? the reason i ask, is because you said you changed a bunch if ignition stuff and said that you do have spark. so, i'd check your fuel quality and pressure next

When I got the car the Tank was near empty.. I just added some fresh 93 octane to it and it was running great..

Now this crap. But the exhaust still smells like bad gas.. im dropping the tank today to take a look at the fuel pump and strainer and inner tank...

No the fuel pump is not in the trunk only the float is...

Car is killing me.. .

Anyways I will report back if I find anything out...

Well found out what was causing the hard starting.. Ended up being the Tank and Fuel pump were nasty.. here. take a look..

I found a newer tank on a Wrecked accord at the junkyard that just came in for 75.00 with fuel pump..

the newer one is so much cleaner. take a peek...

congrats! nice to see an accord rescued (even if it is a V6...)

lol just kidding about the V6 comment. car looks awesome. i wouldnt even guess that they were the same car if you just showed me the first and last pics, aside from the hatch sitting next to her.

any plans for her?

 

what is the difference Length wise in the front end between the V6 and the 4cly?.do the wheels sit further out from the windshield or its it longer infront of the wheels? Just curious haha i heard little info on the v6 accords back in this year

 

^ supposedly the front end is taller/Longer..

I have no proof.. But I know the V6 ones have stock hoodstruts to open the hood for you and a nice under insulation part on the hood. and the motor is backwards like a K series..


no real plans for it.. been trying to sell it to get my wife a P71 interceptor.


Next thing i have to do to the car is fix the AC... Dam compressor will not engage.. still holding a full charge and all..

 

Is it a J Series motor?

 

thats a pretty good plan. you should be able to get a pretty penny more than the $400 you payed for it. i'm not sure how much you payed for the parts but i would think it would easily pay for that too. good luck on selling it

did you have to replace the front clip or just the fenders, headlight(s) and hood? you should post some engine bay pics.
